About

Wendy Litten, EA

I’m Wendy Litten, an Enrolled Agent with 19 years of experience helping individuals and businesses navigate complex tax situations, from business entity taxation to IRS problem resolution.

I’ve always been the person who keeps the spreadsheets balanced while everyone else brainstorms the next big idea. Growing up around entrepreneurs, I watched talented people build incredible businesses only to get tripped up by tax compliance. I realized early that understanding taxes isn’t just about filing forms. It’s a critical piece of building and protecting wealth.

That combination - detail-oriented problem-solver who understands entrepreneurial thinking - is what drives this practice.

Why cryptocurrency taxation?

I’ve followed blockchain technology since its early days, not for the hype, but for the genuine promise of decentralized systems. When DeFi exploded and the tax implications became extraordinarily complex, it was a natural intersection of interests: cutting-edge technology meets intricate tax problems that need solving.

The tax code might seem dry to some, but I find it fascinating, especially when it collides with technology the IRS hasn’t figured out how to handle yet. Helping someone navigate liquidity pool taxation or multi-year crypto cleanup combines everything I enjoy: learning new systems, solving complex puzzles, and delivering real value.

Why a virtual, tech-forward practice?

Technology and I go way back. My first DOS laptop in 1989, my beloved PalmPilot, my Treo smartphone–I’ve always been drawn to tools that make work more efficient. I remember the internet before the World Wide Web. For me, technology has always been about working better, not just differently.

Running a completely virtual practice isn’t a pandemic adaptation. It’s how I’ve always thought work should function. Secure portals, text communication, Telegram for those who prefer it, everything accessible on your schedule.

This approach also aligns with how I think about accessibility. As a proud parent of a disabled young adult, I understand neurodiversity and flexible communication. Some people think better in writing. Some prefer quick voice messages. Some need time to process information before responding. The way I’ve structured this practice accommodates all of that naturally.

What satisfies me professionally?

Solving problems. Explaining complex situations clearly. Saving someone money they didn’t know they could save. Resolving IRS debt that’s been causing anxiety for years. Helping someone understand why their DeFi transactions are being reported a certain way, so they actually learn something instead of just signing forms.

Tax work is ultimately about giving people clarity and control over a system that feels opaque and intimidating. When someone walks away understanding their situation and knowing exactly what comes next, that’s when I know I’ve done my job well.
