Terms & Privacy

The straightforward version

Nobody reads terms pages. I get it. But since we’re dealing with taxes and the IRS requires certain things, here’s what actually matters:

When you work with me, your information stays confidential. I follow IRS Circular 230 rules and professional standards for tax practitioners. I won’t share your details with anyone unless you authorize it or the law requires it (like an IRS summons, which has happened exactly zero times in 19 years).

I’m not storing your data on some sketchy server. Everything lives in secure, encrypted systems designed for tax professionals. When we’re done working together, your files stay available in your client portal unless you ask me to delete them.

If something goes wrong with your return because I made an error, I’ll fix it. If it’s an IRS mistake or a situation outside my control, we’ll deal with it together, but I’m not covering penalties that aren’t my fault.

That’s the practical version. The formal version is below if you need it.

Engagement Terms

Services Provided

I provide tax preparation, cryptocurrency tax analysis, and IRS problem resolution services as an Enrolled Agent licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. All services are performed in accordance with IRS Circular 230 and professional standards for tax practitioners.

Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

My Responsibilities

I agree to:

Fees and Payment

All services are provided on a flat-fee basis quoted before work begins. Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements are made in advance.

Quotes are based on the information you provide. If your situation turns out to be more complex than initially described, I’ll discuss additional fees before proceeding with extra work.

Limitation of Liability

I carry professional liability insurance and will correct errors I make. However, I’m not responsible for:

Maximum liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question.

Termination

Either of us can end the engagement at any time. If you terminate before work is complete, you’ll pay for work performed to that point. If I terminate (rare, but possible if you’re not providing needed information or the situation is outside my expertise), you’ll receive any work completed and a refund of any prepaid fees for incomplete work.
